Our 12 acre property in Seguin has 3 different surface soil types and a common underlying beige colored sub-soil. The soil pH is slightly acidic with moderate drainage due to the heavy clay in the soil. With a Westward sloping grade, heavy rains easily shed from the vineyard. The grapes we are growing in our Seguin location include; Lenoir, Lomanto, Norton, America, Champanel, Camninare Noir, and Wine King.
The property in Hye has not yet been planted. We will be planting the new "Walker" vines when they become available in the next year. Our soil in Hye has 6 inches of loamy topsoil with approximately two and a half feet of caliche with an underlying limestone.
